So not even the 1st Generation Paperwhite will get the upgrade. Just the three current models.

Seems they should make it for all readers past and present. For me it won't matter, we are a two person family and all our books are bought under one account.

So this is only available on certain kindle devices. Will have to keep my husband on my account. He doesn't have a kindle device, only the app on his tablet.

I was really hoping this would be a server-end change that would allow it to be used on all Kindles. :(

About Family Library

Use Family Library to share content between two adults in your household.

Family Library lets you link your Amazon account to that of another adult in your household so you can easily share Kindle books across your Amazon devices and Kindle reading apps. Each adult chooses what they want to share: they can share all of their Kindle books, or, they can choose to only share individual titles.

I don't see where you set up the household profiles in order to create the family library. :chinscratch: When I search "household profiles" in the Amazon help, I get taken to the page for setting up the Echo. So this must be related to the Amazon Echo?

You set it up from your Kindle.

Home -> Settings -> Registration and Household -> Household and Family Library.

Thanks. Going back upthread, I found a couple of links for it and I bet I can't do it, since I have an older Kindle. It's too bad since this is a feature I would otherwise get a lot of use out of! Not so useful that I would buy a new device for only this feature.
