Indeed I did. I was busy answering crich70 at the moment and skipped right over it. Thanks for keeping me honest! ;)

Can the book also be from the MR library?

Absolutely.

H.G. Wells' The Invisible Man. I got mine off Feedbooks.com in their free public domain section of the site! You can also go to Manybooks.net, Project Gutenberg (gutenberg.org), and even Google Books! I just started reading it on my Sony Pocket Reader, so please do not give any spoilers.

And it's also here at MR as well.

It's been a year since this was nominated and lost, but maybe it will have better luck this time. I nominate Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C. Clarke. Hard science-fiction from the author of 2001: A Space Odyssey and its sequels.

From Wikipedia:
Quote:

Rendezvous with Rama is a hard science fiction novel by Arthur C. Clarke first published in 1972. Set in the 22nd century, the story involves a 50-kilometre (31 mi) cylindrical alien starship that enters Earth's solar system. The story is told from the point of view of a group of human explorers who intercept the ship in an attempt to unlock its mysteries. This novel won both the Hugo and Nebula awards upon its release, and is regarded as one of the cornerstones in Clarke's bibliography.
Amazon UK / Amazon US / Barnes & Noble

[QUOTE=Dazrin;2879334]I am going to nominate Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

I'll second this.

caleb72 07-24-2014 08:06 AM

I'm going to third Ready Player One to get one more on the list fully nominated.

JSWolf 07-24-2014 10:15 AM

In order to get to the vote, I'll third The Time Machine.

WT Sharpe 07-24-2014 10:42 AM

And that's 10. Back soon with the poll.
