Moving on…
The time has come for me to "retire" from the calibre development community.
My wife and I are embarking on some extensive (and long-delayed) travel plans. Much of that time will be spent with unpredictable or no internet access. As a result, I will no longer be able to actively be part of calibre development. I make this announcement with mixed feelings. For the last five years, calibre development has been a central part of my life. Kovid has been a patient and generous teacher, both in the forum and offline. chaley and kiwidude in particular have provided technical and moral support over the years, for which I am very grateful. This community goes above and beyond in helping each other. I am proud to have been a part of it. After consulting with Kovid, I've decided that the best course of action is to seek interested calibre developer(s) to take over maintenance of my three plugins, iOS reader applications, Marvin XD and Annotations. Source code for the plugins is maintained in public repos on GitHub. If you are interested in taking over maintenance, please send me a PM to discuss. If no one steps up to take over development, the plugins will be deprecated, meaning that they will still be available, but no longer actively maintained. Thanks to all who have made calibre what it is today. Carry on. G |
Have FUN!

Bon Voyage!
Have an absolute BLAST!
Thank you for iOSRA and MXD ... you helped turn an iPad into a real eReader. Regards, Marty |
Best wishes for your coming adventures. I admire your willingness to set out on this journey. May you achieve your goals, empty your bucket list, and have a wonderful time in the process.

A hearty thank you for all of your efforts, you have made the calibre/iOS/Marvin combination extremely effective and easy. I wish you all the best in your travels!

Safe travels!

I tried to come up with something that was witty, relevant, and pithy - none of which are areas at which I excel - but still...
Thank you for everything you have done for the calibre community. God bless you and your wife, keeping you both safe on your journey until you arrive, once more, at home. |
Best wishes and good luck. Enjoy your travels together and see the world.
