making images clickable

Hi,

In the back of my new Kindle book I'm adding links to my other books in a series of books on Kindle. I've made the text clickable but would also like to make the images of my book covers clickable. The images are next to the text. How can I do this in Sigil? Thanks.

Something like:
Code:

<p><a href="../Text/MyLink.xhtml"><img alt="MyImage" src="../Images/MyImage.jpg" /></a></p>

If you get this to work on Kindle, it will not work on other devices based on ADE unfortunately. This has been a requested item and the ereader makers don't support it. sigh

Jerry?

You may want to pause and ask yourself these questions:
  1. How do all the readers know that these images are links?
  2. What happens on all those Fire devices, etc., where the image should be zoomable post-tap, but I've made it a web-link, instead? How do I tell them to zoom the image, rather than use the link, and vice-versa?
  3. What about the fact that if I've used Amazon webpage links, the user can't buy my book from that link, anyway? (Assuming that the cover links aren't going to your own blog, etc.)
  4. What happens when someone WANTS to click my link, but is on one of the millions of Kindle devices that don't have viable web-browsers? How do they know what the link is, that they wanted to use?

Just food for thought.
