Hi all, This is my first vote on Mobile Read. I found this site after I got my first reader Nook ST as a Christmas gift. I'm torn between Dorian Gray and Oz. I'd love to read them both. I just read The Canterville Ghost on St. Patrick's Day to celebrate all things Irish - including Oscar Wilde. Happy Reading!

Third The Bridge of San Luis Rey.

Welcome to the book club, xstitchfan. This is a good way to read books we may otherwise miss.

Welcome aboard. During the nomination process you get three votes to use as you see fit, either to nominate selections or second selections by others. ;)

And the voting process is multiple choice, so you can vote for more than 1. Those are the two I am probably going to vote for at this point too.

Welcome!

Third Gulliver's Travels.

John F 03-24-2014 07:33 AM

I'll nominate the Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas.

Amazon blurb:

Quote:

With its rousing cry of "One for all, and all for one," Alexandre Dumas's thrilling adventure novel has captivated generations of readers since its initial publication in 1844. Action, intrigue, and romance abound in this swashbuckling epic, which traces a country lad's path to the French court of the early 1600s and the glorious fraternity of the king's men, the Musketeers.

Amazon blurb:

Since this was nominated back in June, I've simply transferred the library links in that nomination to this one. While I was doing so, I couldn't help but notice a humorous observation on his summation page by one of the three uploaders of the work, HarryT (the French/English versions are by Doitsu, and the French ePub is by Jellby):

If you think that War and Peace or The Lord of the Rings would be quite good if only they were longer, this is the series for you :).

I third Uncle Tom's Cabin.

xstitchfan 03-26-2014 05:15 PM

Thank you for the warm welcome. I am floored by all the amazing work that goes into this site - esp the lovely people that upload the books and those that keep me updated on the lastest ebook news!

Thanks for telling me about the third vote! I vote for Gulliver's Travels. BTW, I mentally shuddered at the thought of rereading Dumas - I was originally a French major at Rutgers College - I started reliving those endless hours in French Lit. Yes, there are some amazing French writers. But, if I ever had to read it in French, it will always a no vote for me - sorry. Happy Reading!

Well, I'll give my 3rd vote some more thought just not today - this day is totally getting away from me! Happy Reading!

I will use my third nomination for The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling, another fun yet classic read.

Contains these stories:
MOWGLI'S BROTHERS
KAA'S HUNTING
TIGER! TIGER!
THE WHITE SEAL
RIKKI-TIKKI-TAVI
TOOMAI OF THE ELEPHANTS
HER MAJESTY'S SERVANTS
PARADE-SONG OF THE CAMP ANIMALS

Also available on Amazon and probably everywhere else too.

tidegirl 03-27-2014 02:57 AM
