2 Table of contents in one EPub?
I have a word doc that had two table of contents:
Summarised Contents then a regular TOC is it possible to have two TOC's in one Sigil generated epub? thx H I |
Well, technically, a toc is just a page with a bunch of links to other pages, that is defined as a toc. I think, officially, you can only have one actual defined toc in an epub. That being said, you can have as many pages of links as you want.
So, in your example, I think you could have one sort of general toc page and a really detailed toc page. Only one of them will be able to be a real toc though. You'll need to decide which one to make your official toc for the epub though; the one that you want to go to when you press the toc button or icon or whatever from your reader. - Byron |
I think an ebook can contain only one TOC. But you can insert as many HTML-TOC as you whant. Sigil offers you both versions of TOC.
A TOC in a word-doc is like a HTML-TOC. It's a printable page, like the TOC of Books. But what's called TOC in ebooks you can't see while reading. You must call the show-TOC function. |
