New Errors Converting epub3 -> zip -> epub3
I recently edited 5 errors in my epub3 document. When I re-ran epubcheck those errors were fixed, however there were over 20 new errors. I am using Windows and Dreamweaver as my editor. I exported my InDesign file to .epub3. I renamed my .epub to a .zip, extracted all, then opened the files in Dreamweaver. When I finished I used ePubPack to convert the .zip back into an .epub. The errors must have occurred during the reconversion process. Is there a better method?
Thank you |
I answered my own question, in case anyone has the same problem:
I used tweak epub (http://www.atlantiswordprocessor.com...tweak_epub.htm) to open my epub files in dreamweaver and it worked just fine. |
May I ask what the reasoning is of opening the book in Dreamweaver after exporting it from InDesign?
What are the specific errors you are getting and what is telling you these errors? Also, is there a specific reason you are going with EPUB3 instead of EPUB2? (EPUB2 is compatible with MANY more ereaders). What is the device/readership you are aiming for (iBooks only?). Is this book going for sale (on Amazon? B&N? Your personal site?)? Or is it for personal usage only? |
