Newbie Help

Hi Everyone! I'm quite new to the ebook scene. I've got a Nook but don't use the B&N for purchasing ebooks. I currently use Calibre just as an ebook management and I then attach my Nook to move ebooks over, however, I've since signed up to Dropbox so I can access my ebooks or whatever I want to read on my Android or iPhone (depends which one has battery at the time) and I wanted an easy guide on how to set this up.

I have setup Dropbox and have moved my Calibre library over to it, I've also changed the location of all my newly transferred books to Dropbox but it seems that not all my ebooks are available in Dropbox...what am I doing wrong?

Are there any other tips & tricks to make the combination of Calibre and Dropbox easier or better to use?

Looking forward to everyone's advise :D

What you are doing should work fine. The only thing you're doing wrong is waiting. You need to wait for all of the books to sync from your computer to the cloud before trying to find them on your device.

I have my library in dropbox but I don't use it to access books on my android tablet. One thing to be aware of is the fact that calibre does not update the metadata (cover, title, series, author etc...) until the book is exported from calibre using the Save to disk, Send to device, email, or content server. This means the books you will be accessing may not have the exact same metadata within the book as you see in the calibre GUI.

If having the metadata in the books reflect what is in the GUI is important to you then you might consider using the Modify Epub plugin to embed the metadata into all of your books.

On my Android tablet I use Calibre Companion to manage my ebooks and launch the ebook using the reading app of my choice.
