Cicero, Marcus Tullius: On Moral Ends. v1. 03 March 2012
 

Cicero's main treatise on the theory of ethics (Latin title de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum), in which he presents and criticizes the ethical components of the prevalent philosophical systems of his day. This is done through a "dialogue" format which is not however much of a dialogue and consists mostly of long speeches.

This is the Harris Rackham translation contained in the Loeb Classical Library and published in 1914. I have typed in the entire text and I am sure there are errors. But there are really only two methods for getting an existing printed text into the (text-based) electronic realm, and the other involves "scanning and proofreading" which I find more tedious than typing. Others may differ of course.
