0.5.1 Released
This is primarily a maintenance release with a large number of fixes. Find and replace (F&R), GUI tweaks and spell check were the major focus. Highlights include: F&R now supports wrapping and the ability to search within selected files. The GUI now (hopefully) remembers cursor position when switching views. en_GB dictionary was added, all dictionaires were updated and hyphenation dictionaries are now included by default.
This release wouldn’t have come off as smoothly, quickly or with as many fixes and new features without the help of meme. Thank you for the time and effort you put into making this release possible. Full announcement. Downloads. |
Sweet! That was quick work. :)

Excellent; thanks for the new release.

Thank you for your effort and time spent user_none and meme.

Oh, this new interface for find/replace is one million times better. Good job!

Crash when adding existing images
Looks like this version crashes Sigil when adding an existing image because of the code I updated to add new items after the item you clicked on in the browser. Its been fixed by user_none for the next version, so you may want to wait to upgrade unless you want to test the other features. Hopefully it'll mean a slightly earlier release for 5.2, maybe after a short time to see if there are any other major issues.

Thanks user_none and meme. I love the this release with all new changes.

Great work you two!

This version looks good but one aspect seems to have gone back to not allowing renaming of the file extension. I get a lot of epubs that were created from zipped up html files and converted in calbre. I like to rename the .html files to .xhtml. I have no idea if this is unnecessary since the epub seems to work but it seems untidy (heh!).

The renaming without file extension was in 0.5.0 as well - a requested feature.
Someone else could comment if it really matters - since xhtml is certainly valid. Whether the feature needs to be modified to allow you to overrule the selection to change the file type is another question. Right now if you modify xhtml to html you get .html.xhtml :) If its really needed, you could submit an issue about it, but it probably isn't a real issue. |
A couple of things with the book browser.
There is no longer a warning given when removing a file. Clicked remove instead of rename and the file was gone. Very dangerous. Renamed a file and went to the next file to rename and the cursor jumped to a different file. I almost gave the file the wrong name. Also dangerous. While I'm on the subject - After a file removal the cursor goes to the top of the book browser. It would be nice if it would stay put. The new F&R is really nice. I haven't tried the "selected HTML" yet, but I can see it coming in handy. Regards - John |

I'll also check out the selection change after a rename. I added sync'ing the selection in the book browser to the open tab so its possible that's interfering here. Good to see the cursor's going to the top when deleting instead of something worse ;) Found an issue if you delete the current tabs you're left with none, and that's the one I'm trying to change to go to the top. |
