With all these Chinese words having multiple meanings, I take it it's not a popular language for legal documentation or contracts there? :p

You can be precise, but not with just two words. And you have the possibility for deliberate ambiguity, that would would be very difficult to express in Western languages.

You can, for example say "there is <book> on the table" (Chinese has a plural form only for people). It could be one book or many books.
