Unlike Real Soldiers of Fortune, Soldiers of Fortune is a fictional work. Although all of Davis' reporting had a bit of fiction in them as all of his fiction had a bit of non-fiction in them.
Written in 1897, before Real Soldiers of Fortune, it provides a composite of several people that Davis had known in his life as a war correspondent. |
