Math on your Kindle:
From the homescreen, you can do various math operations. Note: Kindle does experience floating decimal errors sometimes.
Press the Keyboard button top open up the search box and type an equation like so:
Code:

1+1
And press Enter. This will display:
Code:

1+1=2
as the first search result, as well the other search results under it.
More complex equations are available as well:
Code:

(5+4+3+5)/4=4.25
Code:

3^7=2187
I don't have a floating point decimal error example on hand wight now.

Search bar calculator has a 'history function', kinda. If you include an _ it wil replace it with the answer to the previous calculation.

Doing things like:
Code:

7>6=76
Code:

23|60=2360
so it's not the best, but it works for a quick calculator!

THIS MEANS DON'T BUY A CALCULATOR APPLICATION FOR YOUR KINDLE!

Not quite sure if this is a shortcut or not, but if you hold the keyboard button and press the left previous page button twice, a screen displays showing a barcode and your serial number. Works from most screens.
Also is typing 'is' into Search my items considered a short cut. That gives you the time and date. Also, what about @help and so on.

What does @print do?

Glorfindel 03-31-2014 12:49 PM

opens Kstore if I remmember right

Well that is really cool! I already bought one but its fine that I did cuz it has the trig and calculus functions that I need (and costed 99¢) :) but this would be easier to use I'm sure.

You can't change the "screen brightness" on a K4. It doesn't have a light to change the brightness of.

Is there a method in the way this Kindle decides to default to full definition or highlight when making a selection? I thought it would be the last method used, but it seems to be random? Is there a way to have it default, to say, highlight? Cheers

If the word is in the dictionary then it will show the def. if it isn't then it won't.

Search bar calculator has a 'history function', kinda. If you include an _ it wil replace it with the answer to the previous calculation.

Searching for 'is' and selecting the top result displays detailed time and date information.
