page numbers in ALL kindle books?
Hi,
I am considering to buy a pretty costly computer science book for my kindle3 (60$). The free sample looks pretty good but it does not have page numbers which are crucial for this book as it has lots of cross references to page numbers. Do you know if all kindle books these days have a page numbering which is identical to the printed page numbering? Can I find out if this specific book has page numbering? This is the book: http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Video-...pr_product_top Thanks, Jens |

BTW: Reference books are often not that great when converted to eBooks. It sounds like the one you are looking at did not format it for digital otherwise they would have replaced cross-references to pages with hyperlinks. |
Thanks for the answer.
Is there any way to find out of page numbers are included? Can I contact amazon about that? Who would I contact? Thanks, Jens |
Cross-references in an ebook should be done with hyperlinks, not page numbers. It sounds as though this book is poorly formatted.
The easiest thing might be to simply buy the book. You can return it within 7 days of purchase if it doesn't work for you. |
General observation: if the sample doesn't have page numbers, the book itself won't either...
On another note, I agree with previous posters, if the cross-referencing isn't done with hyperlinks (still quite often it isn't unfortunately, especially with Topaz format books) then the book isn't worth buying (unless maybe it's below 2$, but still that depends on the content)... |

OK. So I won't buy the book. Probably the publisher had an intern transfer the book into an ebook in half a day.
Too bad. It would have been nice to get a decent kindle book on that topic. |
