Question about Table of Contents and STR

On the nook classic, when you view the table contents on the LCD, you can only see one level of the TOC, which was never an issue until my wife bough the Maximum Ride boxed set.

The TOC has three top levels of the three books and then a second level under each book with the actual chapters. When I look at the TOC on the LCD of the classic, all I see are the three books.

Does the STR have this same limitation, or can it see two levels of TOCs? I could make a quick dummy ePub in Sigil is somone would like to test for me.

Nook STR has the same problem, unfortunately. If the book is not DRM, you can go in and flatten the hierarchy, probably not possible otherwise.

The other (easier) workaround would be to navigate to each chapter heading and set a bookmark, or highlight there. Then you can navigate the bookmark or note lists instead of TOC.

I'm disappointed they didn't fix this TOC issue on the touch. It can't possibly be that hard, and it's a PITA when you have to navigate through the book (it's not like the touch never forgets the last read page...).

I know there is a hacked version of the reader app for the classic. Perhaps someone will fix it for the touch as well.

The really annoying thing about this is that the Classic used to show you the sublevels of the TOC, until the 1.5 upgrade, if I remember correctly. It was difficult to navigate using the Classic bottom panel, but now with the touch it would be easy to work with, so it's really a shame they don't restore it to the way it used to work.
