remap buttons
I'd like to be able to remap buttons on the device, particularly the journal<->reader button on the e-ink side.
It makes no sense to me to dedicate a hardware button to switch to an application which requires the stylus anyway. I would find it more useful to use it for a reading function, such as zooming out (which I can't do on a pdf without using the stylus), or panning. |
I agree. Zoom or panning hardware buttons will be much more useful.

Remapping the buttons is a great idea. I find it annoying that there's a button for zooming in, but you need the stylus to zoom out again. Not the msot ergonomic set of motions.
|
I like the journal switch button, but I can see how some would prefer it be a zoom out. I've wanted that a few times myself. Choice is always good. Great idea!

I think robot and jcase may be your knights in shining armour here. As well as landscape e-ink reading. Hopefully enTourage will be releasing full source code very soon which will make tweaks like this more available.

Not this time. :(
Reader is copyrighted by Adobe and licensed to EE, and Journal, Library and Wheel copyrighted by EE. So only EE can made necessary changes into those software. I'm also still waiting for normal zooming in PDF and international support in Reader (even send 'how-to made it' to support), but seems it's not prioritated tasks. |
p.s. if developers will read this thread... you can also use "long taps" for other actions.
1 sec zoom tap -- zooming, 5sec zoom tap --- zoomout. 1 sec next tap -- next page, 5 sec next tap -- 10 page forward. 1 sec wheel tap -- display ROTATION (hope we will see it) , 5 sec tap -- software picker. Or something like that. |
