A LONG EATON woman was woken up by her dog barking to find her house on fire.
The home on Wilmot Street went up in flames just before 3am on Sunday.

Firefighters from Ilkeston and Long Eaton were called to tackle the bungalow blaze which caused significant damage.

They used aerial platforms to put out flames from above.

Police were informed and are now investigating the incident.

A spokesperson said: "Somebody is believed to have set fire to a settee in a storage area outside the bungalow.

"Anyone who saw anything suspicious or has any information should contact us on 0345 1233333."

The woman and dog both escaped the house uninjured.
