New beta of Reuters Mobile goes online

Try the new beta version of Reuters US Mobile. It delivers breaking news and business developments, as well as the biggest entertainment, sports, technology, health stories and more to your mobile phone. You can also check weather and airport delay information, view US market performance and access stock information.

It's rather nice, and includes photos, more detailed stories, and a link to Reuters UK.

Nice link! I found it very easy to get info from. But I wonder how they benefit by offerring it. I didn't see ads (which is a big part of why it's so nice), but it is beta.

So are they planning to add ads, or put links for product purchases, or do they offer this in order to get lots of people accustomed to going to Reuters for their news (ie making themselves a bigger name across the board for all kinds of future uses.)

Surely it's not out of the kindness of their hearts...

They've now added 1 ad on the page. It rotates with each page refresh or when you browse to another article. It's also very time-sensitive. I.E. it's 6:13 pm, and I can only go back to about 11:00 am (give or take depending on how many articles there are in the category). All in all, nice find while I'm trying to figure out how to get WSJ.com working.
