GPS Navigation: PPC vs. CarPC
If you are interested in a reliable GPS navigation solution for your car, make sure you don't miss this test over at x50v.it, comparing an Axim X50v Pocket PC equipped with GPS to a stand-alone, dashboard-mounted GPS navigator. While the CAR PC system shines with a beautiful 7" touch LCD screen, the PPC excels in speed (due to its 624 MHz Intel XScale processor) and portability.

Kinda slick. I've been playing with the idea of putting a Mac Mini in my "old" car, but now that I have a "new" car (VW bus) I'm concerned with security. I've been thinking of going PPC, and I would exactly use it for GPS in my van (and it's removable, so I don't have to worry about it being stolen.)
I'm liking the new Pocket Loox with the built-in GPS, but the new Axim has the faster processor. Decisions, decisions. |
