Sync Metadata to Kindle 3?

I recently bought a Kindle 3 and put a bunch of stuff on it (used Calibre to convert most of it). In Calibre, I edited a lot of the metadata but it doesn't seem to carry over to the Kindle... As far as I can tell (and from a bit of searching), there is no way to sync metadata changes to the kindle. Is this correct? The only way I have found to do it is to remove the file from the kindle and then re-add it.

Is there a way to do this while keeping your place in the document?

Thanks for the quick reply

Please don't make a mockery of my appearence. My mother held a Nook too close to her belly when she was pregnant with me. Anyway....

I have been lurking here for a loooong time. I never registered until I actually bought a reader. I have seen the old " Welcome to our Loving and Supportive Community! " thing way too many times. Frankly, it sickens me.

Welcome to MobileRead, el brio.

Forgive the courtesy of a welcome.

This might not be the type of board you are accustomed to. Some of us are actually civilized and friendly.

There must be some compensations - you're very quick for under 12 months old.

Ahhh... Thank you for your reply! I believe that ad hominem attacks are against the rules of this forum, if I am not mistaken. No worries though, I don't take it personally. Maybe if I posted here roughly 400 times a month for the last two years I would feel more passionately about the subject, but thankfully I don't.

Anyway, thanks for the help and the warm welcome everyone. It made my day
