what's the texture on the back of white Kindles?

is it the same as the graphite ones?

if so, is it easier to get the white Kindles dirty?

Interesting question, but I would tend to assume yes, the texture is the same as the graphite Kindles.

Get a case/cover/skin and never worry about getting the thing dirty.

I don't know. I can't feel it through the cover.

Plus I assume you're talking about the rare, white K3 and not the popular, white K2 which has an entirely different everything.

My K2 never got dirty, so there's really no reason to suppose that a white K3 would, either. Besides which, you ARE going to keep it in a case, right, so it's rather a moot point.

I almost always read my K3 without a case on it. The only time I use the lighted case is when I need the light or when I travel. I recently went on vacation. My K3 was in its case in my cargo pants pocket, when we got the all clear on turning on electronics I took my K3 out of the case and read on the plane.

wait... are you saying most people don't buy the Kindle 3 with 3G in white?

most of my friends who have Kindle 3 with 3G have the white one....

I don't think that I have see a white K3 in the wild, but have seen several graphite ones.

That's what I'm saying. Wifi only or Wifi + 3G , the white K3 is a pretty rare bird... 'round these parts anyway.

My white K2 stays clean. I only use it with the original Amazon cover, and I try not to to touch it with "Dorito fingers," but should a bit of grime materialize... a slightly damp cloth usually takes care of it.
