The Invasion - A Science Fiction top seller

My wee book THE INVASION is, as of 4th Sep 2010, in the top ten Science Fiction books for the Kindle (it's also in the top 10 for Kindle horror, and the top 20 for ALL horror books).

It seems I have a hit on my hands, as it sold over 1200 copies in August.

http://www.amazon.com/The-Invasion-ebook/dp/B003HS4V8O

http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/13290

For fans of '50s SF and B-movies, this is an old school Alien Invasion story.

Quote:
It started during a winter storm on the North Eastern Seaboard which brought with it a strange green rain. Where it fell, everything withered, died, and was consumed. The residents of remote outposts in Maritime Canada escaped the worst of the early damage, but that was a blessing in disguise, for they were left to watch as first North America, then the world, was subsumed in the creeping green carpet of terror. And that was just the beginning. New life forms began to arise from the ooze, simple organisms at first, but multiplying with ever increasing complexity. The few human survivors are faced with a full-scale invasion... and only radical measures will guarantee the survival of the human race.

I've been meaning to buy that one for a while, but I keep forgetting. When does the print version of Crustaceans come out?

I picked up the sample, read it this evening, and bought the book from Amazon. Looks like a really fun read, very much my type of book.

Is the one from Amazon the newer edition with the corrected typos, or still the old ARC edition that one must get directly from you?

This sounds like an interesting read, but not with the typos that a couple of reviewers on Amazon mention.

Typos are being fixed... should be up today according to my publisher.

Print editions of this, and Crustaceans should be coming early in the new year.

Just picked it up from Amazon; hope the typos are fixed by now! If I had read to the end of the thread before I clicked the Buy button, I probably would have waited for confirmation of that first. Oh, well; sounds like a very interesting story just the same!

By the way, if Invasion was updated on Smashwords yesterday, how long would it take for that version to filter down to Kobo?

No idea actually... Crustaceans got to the Kobo quickly, but the others haven't turned up yet.

The Invasion just kicked Stephen King's The Stand out of the top 10 in Kindle Horror :-)
