Kindle 3 adjustable contrast setting
Can somebody who just got their new Kindle 3 test the adjustable contrast function on pdf files. I got some scanned pdf and would like to increase the contrast of the font in Kindle. Thanks

I think this feature is mostly for PDFs with color images or text, where Kindle's conversion to greyscale needs adjusting to get enough contrast for readability. I'll try to get around to uploading some examples later on unless someone beats me to it.

I'm not sure where tomsem got his assumptions, but the contrast settings do help out with scanned black and white documents that were converted to PDFs.
Here is a complete set of five screenshots showing a scanned image PDF as viewed in all five contrast settings: Lightest, Lighter, Default, Darker, Darkest.
