Can we please have the full URL? We don't need hidden URLs as MR supports the full URL.

I wasn't hiding anything ... just being respectful to users and shortening the URL.

How is it being respectful using a hidden URL?

Agreed, especially when it deceives people into going to your blog and requires them to click an extra link to get to the article.

Sounds like the plot to a very bad eBook. Maybe I should start a new thread on "'Net Paranoia."

After you've been Rick-Rolled by masked URLs a few times you do tend to get a little paranoid.

I agree with that. It is best to list the entire URL to the actual page. If you want to enter a tiny url for those with smartphones then send them to the actual page rather than an intermediary page. Paranoia is sometimes justified, especially for those of us who lived through the era when legitimate URLs were often hijacked in the mid-1990s. We are even more paranoid of tiny urls and for a very good reason.

It really is not nice to redirect people to your blog just to get the hit count up. You made it sound like you were linking directly to the Wired article. Just another reason these hidden URLs should never be used/clicked.

Slightly inaccurate about PDF support. K2 has had DX-equivalent support since last year, and K3's PDF support is now 3 features better than DX (includes annotation, contrast adjustment, and ability to read password protected PDFs). Hopefully Amazon isn't done tweaking DX and K2 firmware and will bring them up to parity. But we're still missing:
- PDF link support (for TOC, endnotes etc)
- PDF reflow
- ability to search for text in all items on Kindle, including PDFs (you can search for text inside a particular PDF, but you have to open it first).

I have been on the "Net quite a bit longer than that, and have NEVER had a personal system "hijacked" or "infiltrated" by any such nonsense.

But it is apparent "Clint's world" is a bit different than what others here have experienced.

Really? I was on BBS's in the extremely late 80s, but what exactly were you accessing in the late 70s? And where? ARPANET? MILNET? I don't think those would quite qualify for a social online presence.

I agree with everyone else, if you want to post a link, don't use a tinyurl redirect to your own blog. And it is possible to serve malware through a site to a typical computer. No, I have never been infected in such a manner, but that is because I have various script and ad blockers and understand security better than the typical www user.
