Sony lover from Canada
Hi! I'm in central Canada.
My husband bought me the Sony PRS-505 for Christmas. I wasn't sure I'd like using an e-book reader, but within a few pages of my first book I was hooked. When I found myself so engaged in a story that I was trying to turn the page the same as I would have if it was a paper book, I knew the Sony had won it's place in my heart. I never leave home without it I'm addicted. I have even given away over 3/4 of my extensive book collection because I've replaced them with digital versions I'm now looking at getting my husband one so he can have many books with him on our upcoming trip to Australia. Just need to decide which one to get him.

Hi Haze! Welcome to the MobileRead forums. I am also a Sony 505 user/lover and feel myself begin to shake if I get more the 10 feet away from it! I find that I read so much more now than I ever did with paper books! My only regret is that there are only x number of hours in the day in which I can read without my wife calling me lazy!
There are a lot of great books right here in the download area, already formatted and proofed by e-lovers, free for the downloading. You can search them by title, author, or genre, and load them quickly into your Sony!

Hi haze and welcome to MobileRead. Lucky you joined in the summer as we normally don't allow Canadians to join in the winter, at least not until you stop sending those Alberta Clippers down here.
Shoot, I didn't think you'd fall for that one.
I had the exact same experience with my 505 when I got it. I soon found myself absentmindedly sliding my finger up to the top right edge of the thing to turn the page.
You are really going to love your 505 on trips. No more packing a separate suitcase just for books.
Do be cautious in Australia as the place is crawling with eBook addicts; many of whom belong to this forum. They'd grab your eBook reader in a second. OTOH, like the rest of us, they'd stop and have a look at who you're reading then get absorbed in one of your books and still be sitting there reading when you came back looking for your reader. We're hopeless addicts but lousy thieves.

welcome There are a lot of Sony lovers here, and there's even a specific forum for the Sony Reader. You might pick up some reviews there.
