Yep - some truly bizarre choices there. Many Brits like Canada but perhaps not that much.

Quite a few more books have now been added, so it's worth keeping on checking back. A couple that caught my attention were:
Cambodia Calling: A Memoir from the Frontlines of Humanitarian Aid
The Conflict Resolution Toolbox: Models and Maps for Analyzing, Diagnosing, and Resolving Conflict

pre-ordered the new discworld book 'I Shall Wear Midnight'.
wish wizards of the coast made ebooks of forgotten realms and dragonlance, they've lost a lot of money from me as i ended up warezing them to read on my iliad.

Thanks went for these,

Blood, Sweat and Tea: Real Life Adventures in an Inner-city Ambulance.
More Blood, More Sweat and Another Cup of Tea.

Tom Reynolds is an Emergency Medical Technician who works for the London Ambulance Service in East London. He has kept a blog of his daily working life since 2003 and his writing is, by turns, moving, cynical, funny, heart-rending & compassionate.

Even free out of copyright books have this charge 74p, sounds odd to me and not what they advertise on the Kindle page, free ebook downloads, yet they are charging now for it.
Amazon used to add a $2+VAT charge to every book to UK customers. That was dropped a few months ago. Some other countries still have this charge added to the price of Kindle ebooks.

Out of copyright does not mean free. It means out of copyright, i.e. anyone can re-publish them, and ask any retail price for them. And many people do, some in better editions that others.

All those 75p editions are by various publishers charging the minimum price Amazon allows them to charge.

If you want a reasonably well formatted version of an out of copyright book, you should look here in Mobileread first. Most of the cheap editions at Amazon are a lot worse than the free editions here.

This book on project management is a great introductory read and written like a novel so not as turgid as most.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Making-Happe...=discounter-21

Quote:
Making It Happen: A Non–Technical Guide to Project Management provides a fresh and clear approach to project management. Written in the form of a novel, it covers the basics of project management in a friendly, interesting, and memorable way.
Will Campbell, a reasonably competent middle manager, is suddenly thrust into managing a high–profile project that could make or break his career. With no project management experience, and armed only with the guidance of his eccentric menror, Martha, Will learns the hard way. As Will navigates the rough seas of company politics, treacherous competition, and a project swirling out of control, he narrowly evades many pitfalls, and masters some indispensable project management tools along the way.

Against the backdrop of this personal drama, a simple, rational approach to project management unfolds. Will′s ability to grasp these principles is the key to his survival, and could be the key to yours. Making It Happen enables the reader to transform risky, real–life situations into success.

Provides a simple, non–technical approach, useful to any business person involved in teams or managing projects
Offers practical tools and principles that will make any project a success: from office moves to product roll–outs, systems implementations to training program delivery, and everything in between
Boxes, definitions, and charts highlight key points and practical project management tips.
