I got this error when trying to access the Sony Reader Store:
"Sorry, we are not able to activate your device, you have reached the maximum number of allowed activations. Error Code (2023)"
I had to contact Sony customer support and they unlocked Adobe for me. Now it works fine.
I wonder if anyone else encountered this problem?

If I ever get to buy a book at the Sony Store I will find out. Apparently I don't really exist because I live in Oz and that doesn't exist. They still send me junk emails though.
