True Crime writer says hello

I am so glad that I found this forum. As stated in the subject line of this thread, I am a true crime author (published three books so far, and have a fourth on the way) who is loving the mobile reading movement, both as a writer and reader.

When my publisher informed me that my third book was available in Kindle format, I decided to bring myself up to speed on everything pertaining to digital books: what readers are available, how formatting and display differs between physical and electronic books, what sort of demand there is for ebooks, etc. At the time, the Kindle was not available in Canada, so I bought a Sony PRS-300 as my first venture into ereader ownership. Months later, I'm still enjoying the experience.

This seems like a fantastic forum and I look forward to being a part of it. As time goes on, I'll probably call upon you all for your advice and expertise in the area of ebook formatting and epublishing. It's a big, growing world out there and I'm excited at the prospect of learning more.

Hi Rose and welcome also. There's so much info on this site it's mind-boggling.
But everyone is so helpful, you won't be boggled long.

Hello Rose & welcome to MR.

As writer you might want to check out the Writer's Corner and the 'Shameless' thread.

I let you discover the other informative threads and fun parts yourself.

Welcome to MR Rose. I hope you will see you way clear to adding links to your books in ereader format. They all do it. We love it

Good to have your company, Rose. I'm a fiction editor at a wee indie house and watching (goggling at) the soaring popularity of ebooks is heartwarming. The idea, I think, is to enthusiastically embrace the technology, as you have, and to keep up to date with developments; not to fight it as some writers and publishers seem determined to do. A good book will always be a good book. Digital presentation is just a new line in packaging. Good luck. Neil
