Hi my name is Keith I'm a Brit living in Thailand interested in anything relating to the Sony Reader PRS500 and e-books tips tricks etc this is my first excursion into forums so any help will be appreciated

Hi khlong9 and welcome to the Forum. Also check out the article on the MobileRead Home page today about Sony and Kindle readers coming to the UK. Don't expect the Kindle'd do you much good in Thailand but you might be able to use the Sony reader.

I've got a 505 and like it a lot.

Hi Thanks to Dale,Jorge Luis Borges,and Erv. now I feel welcome, the main reason I bought a Sony Reader was that getting English books here in Thailand though not impossible can be difficult however it has opened a new world for me I didn't realize there were so many interesting old books out there I mostly use www.manybooks.net "fantastic"

That's my Thailand experience too, (and one of the reasons I got a Sony). The bookshops seem to have a limited range.

And what's the idea of sealing the books up in plastic? Gee, that's annoying.

Also, the postal service is a bit dodgy - so ordering paper books from folks like Amazon is a risk. With a Sony and the internet your reading world is opened up quite a bit.

Off topic: if you're into "Dengue Fever", (the Khmer/US band not the disease), Amazon just emailed me that they have a new cd out.
