fonts as blocks in calibre

Hi, i just build calibre on NetBSD and ran it. All the program fonts are just blocks. I can´t see any text at all. Why would this be happening?

hard to say, I'm not a BSD user. Probably something in your Qt config. DO other Qt based programs work?
