I'm afraid they still don't work for me. Just display as binary junk. If I right click and do a "Save As...", what should the file extension be? It doesn't work as a ZIP file!

It's 7z, that's a free compression format that can be extracted with the free 7zip software. I don't know why they're using that, honestly.

The built-in "unzipper" in Windows doesn't like it, and neither does my rather old version of WinRAR. Looks like it's time to upgrade to the latest version of WinRAR - it can (according to the website) handle ".7z" archives, as fjtorres confirms.

Could you try to persuade PB to re-upload them as ZIP files? It would make life a LOT easier for people .

I use 7-zip. Main reason is it can do Rar as well as Zip files and its free.

It's not a problem for "techies" like us. It's "Joe Public" who's going to have a significant issue with this. It seems madness to release a firmware upgrade in an obscure compression format that the popular operating systems can't handle natively.

It should be .7z
I have even managed to unpack it under Linux, after right click and selecting "save link target as" from menu
