Free Alice in Wonderland (Tim Burton) Nook Screensavers
Not a free book, but Barnes and Noble has a set of 13 Alice in Wonderland character sketches by Tim Burton available for free on their website. They're advertised as nook screensavers, but anyone can download the zip file. The images are in *.png format. Look on the right hand side of the page for the link to download the zip file.

Why is it that on some eink device there is a "screensaver" when eink does not need a screensaver? All you get is a worthless slideshow that wastes battery.

You don't actually get a slideshow, as is done on a PC (which wastes power). Instead, you get one (wasteful, perhaps) eInk change as the reader goes into a powersave mode. No different, really, than blanking the screen or showing the logo. The only way to use less power would be to go to sleep with no indication that you had done so.

You get to choose the time on the LCD, not sure on the eInk screen though.

On the Kindle, you can't change it (without a hack) and I know they recently increased the DX so that it stays powered up longer (so you can use it for studying or cooking, without it constantly going to the screensaver). I think it went from 5 min to about 20 (although you can turn it on at anytime).
