PDF unreadable on Kindle

I have tried to convert PDF files with Calibre software for ebook readers.
However the document still loads on the Kindle as a PDF and the printing is so small it is impossible to read.
Kindle does not allow changing of font size on PDF documents.
Does anyone know how I can convert a large PDF document into a format that can be loaded onto my kindle so that i can change the font size.

Calibre should be able to convert. (Though converting PDFs is an imperfect science even at its best.)

Are you sure you're tranferring the right version to your device after conversion? (Since then you'd have multiple versions: calibre doesn't delete the old one when it converts.)

I usually convert PDF with mobicreator pro, then import it into Calibre. I just haven't found the right settings for Calibre, yet.

Remember, as long as you don't have the original Kindle 1, the newer Kindles will now handle pdf files. Try just putting the file on the Kindle via USB cable, and see what you get. If it is then too small to read, try using the Aa key and turning the doc sideways. The font enlarges then.

If you own the Adobe Acrobat full version you can export pdfs as html (which should be supported by the Kindle).

Thanks for the tip on Calibre. Looks like a handy program for my Kindle 2.

Problem solved - use Universal Document Converter

The one program you need to convert a pdf file to a Kindle-readable pdf file, is Universal Document Converter: http://www.print-driver.com/download/

This program makes a pdf file with image "scans" from the original. Select print... and then "Preferences" and configure the image quality (select a grey-scale or black-white option), output folder etc.
Please mind that each page will have a size of 0.1-0.7 MB and that it will not be possible to search or make notes in the book.
Test-print a page before printing the whole book to check the quality.

Watermark in file?

According to the web page for this device, a watermark is inserted into the file. Is this done on each page, and does it affect the readability of the ebook?

Let me get this straight... it exports as images and inserts a watermark?

Why would anyone put up with such nonsense?

If you want a PDF maker that (like this one) works as a virtual printer (and hence can be used with any application that can print), which is completely free, Open Source, and does not have such glaring problems (i.e. no watermark, exports text as text so you can use the dictionary, etc.), look at something like PDFCreator.
