Scientists say goodbye to screen glare

Scientists say goodbye to screen glare

Is this a game changer for the various e-reader screens on the market?

This will be exciting if it is as scratch resistant as they suggest. I have used AR (anti-reflective) coatings before but usually they scratch if you breathe on them!

Ah, I just love Fraunhofer ... - first they give us MP3 now the anti-glare screen.

I wonder how long it'll be before we see an ebook reader or netbook with this.

I would think Apple would have had someone on a flight yesterday with the success of the iPad!

Actually, I like screen glare and prefer to buy monitors that have it to those that don't. I can't explain why, but I like to see reflection of my surroundings on the screen.

The newer AR lens coatings are scratch resistant if you take care and use microfiber cloths. My current and last pair of glasses have the newer AR coating and only after a year with the last pair did I develop a few minor scratches. I replace my lenses yearly (really bad vision).
