The Countess of Albany (1910 edition; originally published in 1884) This is a biography of the Countess of Albany (1752-1824), born Princess Louise of Stolberg-Gedern, wife of Charles Edward Stuart, “Bonnie Prince Charlie.” They were married when she was twenty and he was fifty-two. He turned out to be a drunkard, prone to fits of domestic violence. Includes three illustrations.
