Was ist pdb für ein Format?

Hm, ich habe Bücher im pdb Format, kann man die in epubs irgendwie wandeln? Wenn ich es in Calibre versuche bekomme ich immer eine Warnung, dass das Buch DRM geschützt sein.

Im pdb Format kann ich es aber nicht auf meinen Sony Reader synchen. Ich dachte eigentlich es wäre in ganz normalen epub Format.

PDB ist wahlweise das Palm Document Format oder das Palm Database Format. Leider wurde diese Dateiendung oft missbraucht und für alle möglichen Sachen benutzt.

Das Einzigste, was mir einfällt ist, Pepaks Pdb2Txt-Konverter zu benutzen, den konvertierten Text dann über eine Textverarbeitung nachzuformatieren und mittels Calibre nach ePub oder LRF zu konvertieren.

Ich habe heute ja zwei Boods bei Barns & Noble gekauft. Die sind in diesem Format. Ich kann sie auf meinem iPhone lesen und ich kann sie auf dem PC mit demn Barns und Noble Reader Software lesen. In Calibre konnte ich das Buch auch importieren, aber leider
nicht auf meinen Sony Reader senden.

Wenn ich das aber richtig verstehe, muss das pdb ja DRM frei sein, dass ist es aber ja nicht. Es ist ja eine Art drm irgendwo da drauf. Solange das so ist, kann ich es ja nicht in epub wandeln.

Ich dachte die Bücher bei B&N seien im epub Format. Bin ein bisschen ratlos.

Ah ok. Nein, B&N verkauft sowohl die eReader books (pdb) als auch ePubs mit DRM. Es ist noch nicht das komplette Angebot auf ePub umgestellt. Bei ePubs von B&N hättest Du prinzipiell aber auch ein Problem: B&N's ePubs benutzen ein DRM, das bisher lediglich auf dem nook funktioniert. Allerdings lassen sich die ePubs von B&N bereits "befreien" - für deren proprietäre .pdb's weiß ich allerdings leider keine Lösung.

Das geht mit ereader2html. Will aber hier keine Anleitung geben!
