With this new versión is very fast, and the readers open the ePub file perfectly, but there is no images in the ePub!

If I open the file with Sigil, this is the code:
<div><img width="51%;" alt="" src="../images/img0001.jpg" /></div>

And in WYSIWYG mode:

Thanks for your work
I will try with another books now, and I comment later.

I open the content of the ePub file, and I think that the problem is the accent in the name of the image. Maybe can be this?

Edit: That's the problem, the accent. I remove the accent and now the image appear again. Not as cover but I can see the image again

The OpenOffice 3.2.1 in spanish put that name by default.The original name of the image has no accent. This is why I don't noticed before.

I discover why don't get the image as cover.
This is the code of the image created by writer2epub:

<div><img width="51%;" alt="" src="../images/img0001.jpg" /></div>

I removed the text red marked and the image is now the cover

<div class="sgc-5">
<img src="../images/img0001.jpg" />
</div>

I hope my feedback can help you. I'm sorry if I'm being such a pain!

I think, if you want your epub to pass epubcheck-1.0.5, the <img> tag will need to have the alt="something" in it.

I could be wrong, though.

ETA: And if you want width=51%, use style="width: 51%;" in the <img...> tag.

The red text is placed by writer2epub, not by me.

Understood. I wasn't trying to accuse you of bad coding

But I suggest the style="blah blah" attribute will work better.

Is not necessary, but will be nice. In the future I will use the image name or the caption as alt text.

Thaks for suggestion

Actually, according to this:

http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_img.asp

either way should work. I was just suggesting an alternative coding that, in my experience, works in most if not all the readers I've tried. I don't know that the former, width="51%" attribute will NOT work. It should be fine. However, Kiermel stated that the problem was with either that or alt="" and I thought an empty alt= attribute should be acceptable, as long as it's there.

Sorry for any confusion.

Thanks, I will work about the image names to solve these potential problems.
Maybe I will change all the names of the images when exported to prevent this rename from OOo

Translators wanted!

Hi all,

I'm looking for translators for writer2epub.

The final release is almost ready, and I wish to implement as many as possible languages.

I need:

English (my English is terrible!) maybe St_Albert?
Spanish (Kiermel?)
French
German
Dutch
Swedish
Russian
Finnish

Thanks to all

Hi Luke

Maybe I could help Kiermel in translating to spanish. The only thing fear me is that I don't know anything about programming, so if translation requieres that knowledge I won't be capable to help.

Edit: In version 0.30 I think there is something "wrong". When I convert .ODT into ePub, it's impossible, at least for me, to change the name that shows my e-book reader (airis dbook, but firmware booq, with both firmwares, the name is "bad"). In Calibre I put the name I want, but I don't know why, when I open the book to read it, the name is the same of the .ODT archive (and didn't recognize accented characters). Maybe this is not problem of your program, or maybe it is fixed in the final version.

See you.

Hi,

at the moment writer2epub takes the title and author out from the filename with this criteria:

Author - Title
or:
Author - Title - Publisher

Plase note the spaces before and after the dash(es)

In future, there will be a preference window to edit the metadata and/or the criteria to extract the metadata from filename or from an external file.
