PRS-600 Computer doesn't recognize my reader?

What gives? my computer has started giving me USB does not recognize device?? this is my second reader, i bought a new usb cable (my cat eats and chews electrical cords). what do I need to do??

Are you in the habit of ejecting your reader prior to physically disconnecting the cord? If not, you may have a corrupt file system.

Perhaps the problem is with the computer or the particular USB port you are using. Have you tried connecting your reader to a different USB port? Have you tried connecting your reader to a different computer?

Thank you I did reset it and it worked, i've been upgrading my safety parameters so perhaps that was it. hopefully I won't have to reset all the time..
