Hello from Toronto. My wife asked me the other day whet I wanted for Christmas, and the next day I realized I wanted an ebook reader very much. I noticed that I always stopped to look at the Sony ebook displays, I read about the Nook unveiling with great excitement, and tell anyone and everyone who will listen that digital ink is the future.
In Googling around for information on which device to get, I found this forum and read a great deal of it. I feel like I have gone from novice to expert overnight: I have Calibre installed on my Mac with my PDF collection of Tor novels I got got free last year already added and metadata tagged, waiting for a device to be connected. I have the firmware hack files to add the clock. I now know I can "check out" ebooks from the Toronto Public Library, which really helped seal the deal with my wife.
Tonight, while out shopping for Christmas presents for our family, Santa slipped a PRS-300 in the shopping cart, taking advantage of the recent price drop!
It will be a long week waiting, but I will have so much fun with it, immediately, thanks to he great information on this site, so thank you in advance for making this a very nice Christmas.
