Another sign of eReader going mainstream

The Sony PRS300 is now available from Tesco supermarkets in the UK. A year ago, it was a struggle to find a high street shop carrying ereaders, this year they are in the supermarket on a large display at the entrance. To me this indicates that Tesco believe the ereader is moving from the "expensive gadget" over to a much broader market. Now if only they started to sell the ebooks themselves.................

I remember, many years ago, predicting that ereaders would be bubble-wrapped and selling for fifty bucks at Tesco checkouts ... I'm half way there, Callant. Cheers. Neil

Here in the US, one of the largest supermarket chains, SuperValu (whose stores go under many different names including Jewel-Osco and Albertson's), carries the jetBook.

Sony is not an eReader. Sony does not support eReader. In fact, Sony has nothing at all to do with eReader.

The ereader format is dead. Long live ereaders (including the Sony's)!

eReader is not yet dead. B&N is doing what it can to keep it alive as well as Fictionwise. But I really do think it should be dead and stay there.

On the subject of sony and mainstream attention for ebook readers, I just saw a best buy advert on nfl.com that was specifically about the sony readers.

Just gave you Karma, Jon. For being a stickler ... not for being right. I go to bed tonight with my ereader and always will. Hoots. Neil
