The Folio Society

Are anyone member of The Folio Society... ????

I have quite a few, and love the look of them on my book shelves. I love the quality of the paper and binding.. When I was younger, I wanted to dedicate a room to books, like wall-wall book shelves.. I had many book back then, many paperbacks that were so worn from reading them, they just had to go in the bin...

These days most of my books are e-books - I don't buy paperbacks anymore, but I do every few years subscribe to The Folio Society to get some good quality paper books for my shelves.

I bought The Hobbit from them more than an year ago.
Superb quality books. Probably some of the best out there.

I've just rejoined and got The Aubrey-Maturin Series by Patrick O'Brian for AUD10. This includes Green Fairy Book and something else as free gifts.

Of course I then need to buy another 4 books before March 2010, but when you work out the average price, it's still very good value for such quality. As time goes by, these books are not available anymore, and become collectors items.
