Palm Treo 700p for Verizon Wireless spotted

Coming on the heels of rumors that Palm is about to launch the Sprint Treo 700p device any time soon, Jimmie Geddes sent us word that apparently there is also already a Treo 700p for Verizon Wireless customers in the works. The source, yet again a user from TreoCentral, uploaded some extremely blurry photos depicting the Verizon logo on what appears to be the Treo 700p. What we don't know is whether it will be launched at the same time as the Sprint model or sometime later this year.

The Treo 700p is rumored to have a 312MHz CPU, Palm OS 5.4.9, EV-DO, 1.3 megapixels camera, a 320 x 320 pixel display, and Bluetooth.

Jimmie also has some interesting information for 650 owners about a possible future firmware update (bringing some of the hoped-for new 700p features to 650 owners). It would continue to make the 650 an appealing choice for many, as it adds many improvements including:

* Tweaks to make running programs off the external card work better (which would help open up more of the limited device memory),
* FAT32 which allows 4gig sd cards
* WiFi card drivers!!!!

I don't know if this is real or not, but it sure would be nice. See the full list of possible firmward upgrades at http://messages.finance.yahoo.com/Bu...865&mid=240865 and http://gadgetsonthego.net/2006/04/ru...re-update.html

I was kind of hoping Sprint would release a 700p first, but all the recent pictures seem to be Verizon. Joint release instead of staggered maybe? Or did Verizon pull off this exclusively for a time also?
