Jetbook now at Jewel - a Chicago chain grocery store

Although I have different readers, I thought I'd mention that as I was browsing my grocery store flyer (Jewel - a MAJOR Chicagoland grocery store chain) I saw that they are selling the Jetbook for $169.99 in their electronics department.

I'm just glad that ebook readers are starting to get out there in front of people!!

Wow, now that's out there, all right! I worked at Jewel when there was a store in my town (we're a few hours out of Chicago). I would have been delirious (and broke) if we'd stocked Jetbooks.

Friday I emailed Estaco for a list of online retailers who would carry the jetBook Lite.

The response said that SuperValu stores would carry it, as well as newegg.com.

Why not? MMPBs used to be big impulse items at convenience stores and grocery stores. That was mostly killed off by distributors, just as newsstands and magazine racks are dying now. An affordable reading device might be just the thing. Just stick a rack of e-book gift cards next to it, and lease some ad space for the best-sellers.
