magazines on eReaders

I've used a friend's Kindle; have downloaded some books from our local e-library, and have been reading a lot over on the Nook forum..

One new area - magazines -

I've seen newspapers and other material on the Kindle, and I see it as a stripped down text version. Maybe some of the other pubs are also textual only. Recently, I stumbled across the Zinio website, and they offer full color graphic versions avail for download.

I can't see how a full color graphic magazine could be offered for download to an eReader over cellular - but maybe via a PC download and then sideloading...
Sure, the color would not display, but maybe a shades of B/W would work.

Just wondering how graphic versions of magazines or other pubs might actually work out with eReaders ?

I think it would depend on the magazine and the ereader. If it's a full-color glossy, I'd not want to open it on my 5" Mini. But on my 7" LCD-based JE100, yes.

Really, for a magazine to work, you'd either need to format it for the smaller display (which I guess smaller pocket magazines would end up well on most ereaders), or start making larger display readers more affordable.
