Hi, just registered
My name is Ann, I live in Norway, and have just ordered an Astak EZ Reader Pro. I read ebooks some years ago on a Compaq pocket PC, but haven't had any ebook experience since. I work in a library where we hopefully will soon be offering ebooks to our patrons.
Other than that, I'm a Mac user, used to be a professional musician, and am working on an MA in Chinese at the university here.  I chose the Astak specifically because it can handle Chinese.I found a lot of useful info here before I ordered my Astak, and am looking forward to getting into the ebook world. |

Hi annk and welcome to MobileRead. Like you, I started reading on a PDA (iPaq in my case) and liked it fine. But once I got my hands on an eInk device, I was hooked and don't ever want to go back.
Be sure and let us know when your Astak arrives and how you like it.

Thanks for the welcome! I had an iPaq, too!
The Astak supposedly has shipped, but I haven't gotten the promised confirmation mail (I can only see from my BooksonBoard account that it's shipped). The usually fast customer service hasn't answered my mails about shipping, either. But for now I choose to believe it's on the way, and will definitely post my impressions once it gets here.
