Question Best way to share writing online?

I'm toying with the idea of sharing my writing online partly to get some feedback as I feel rusty (10 years of no practice!) and partly because I think it would help to encourage me to keep going.

Do you have any thoughts on the best way to do this.

Should I maybe set up a blog and post up individual chapters for people to read?

But here's the thing, if I set up a blog - would that be kinda like reading backwards??? I mean the first chapter would be buried way down and maybe people will find it hard to navigate to the next chapter - or are my ideas all screwy???

Sorry, I'm pretty hopeless with tech stuff Hey I can't even work a dvd recorder and as for the washing machine - forget it, too many buttons! Weirdly I'm ok with computers.

Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

I've done something like this, with the exception of posting a page at a time, rather than a chapter. What I did was post the five most recent posts on the main page in reverse chronological order, and the whole story on its own separate page in the proper order.

You can see what I mean here.

I find it's not great for feedback (I use Critique Circle for that), but it is good for motivational purposes.

Feedbooks.com is the best, and easiest way to make your work available in as many ebook formats as possible (it's point and click). Although if you're after feedback (of any kind) Feedbooks won't provide it. After 11,000 + downloads of my work I had one review.

Blogs seem to be used by lots of writers, but I'm not a fan of them and I believe they're quite useless (unless you're one of the very few who manage to keep a blog audience, David Wellington is the exception rather than the rule).

For critique I'd go with UtterInanity's suggestion and join an on-line group that is targeted toward writing.

Thank you. The way you've set up your blog is clever because I can read your stories in the correct order. I wasn't sure I made any sense on this point but you totally got what I meant

If it isn't good for feedback then maybe I would be better off joining a group so will have a look at that link thanks.

I've heard of feedbooks but I'm just an amateur writer so I don't think I'd feel comfortable going down that road at the moment. Even though it's sharing work freely, I'd still want it to be my best work before going into any kind of book format.

I think an online group is looking to be the best idea so far. Thanks for your advice
