Mr. Bloom, is it your intention to flood MobileRead with all your blog posts?

Yes, that very much seems to be his intention. Do some googling, and you will find that Dan Bloom is very, very fond of Dan Bloom and Dan Bloom's opinions, and writes quite a few blog entries and articles about Dan Bloom praising Dan Bloom. For example, I came up with this one, about Dan Bloom, by Dan Bloom, copyright Dan Bloom.

http://www.bikechina.com/ct-dan.php

I believe that we will continue to see floods of messages from Dan Bloom about Dan Bloom until he either gets kicked off (please?) or his meds kick in.

Darn. Why didn't I think of that?

Actually, I found the interview with Dr. Anne to be interesting. It occurred to me that we already have a word for reading on an ebook reading device, although there is a miniscule potential for confusion with an actual product name.

Should it actually become the new word, it won't bother me (in case my caring one way or the other matters to anyone. Guess I should create a eGeezer copy-written article about eGeezer on eGeezer's webpage to lend it some authenticity).

Anyway, because the product itself was named for the process it promotes, if someone feels it really necessary to differentiate between reading a pbook and reading an ebook, it is simply the difference between reading and ereading. Simple, already on the charts, and wasn't forced upon anyone or orchestrated as a contrivance.

I still don't think we need a new word, but "ereading" at least doesn't trigger my personal gag reflex.

I guess we would then have to differentiate between e-reading and p-reading, but I fear that might lead to a confusing interpretation that p-reading has something to do with reading in the bathroom (water closet, rest room, wash room -- depending on your culture)

All the more incentive for you to post them all here, where there are readers, no?

I'm not angry. I'm not petty. I just recognize something that is very common on the internet-- somebody with a single issue that concerns them very, very much that is out to evangelize the whole world to his cause, and is completely tone-deaf to the polite indifference of others that grows less polite and less indifferent as you continue to pound away at the subject. For you, it is your obsession with the idea that there is a "huge difference" between how brains process books read on electronic devices and books read as ink on paper, and you think the world revolves around that issue, and you need to preach and preach and preach until you convert the world. And before you protest that-- I will note that your blog title calls the growth of electronic media to be the "end of critical thinking."

Mr. Bloom, if the "latest forum activity" on the front page of MobileRead is filled with your old blog posts, it discontinues to be MobileRead and becomes "Dan Bloom's extended blogospere, which at its old location got ZERO hits".

I have loved MobileRead and the various opinions and interactions for years. I would really hate to see it flooded with the backlog of blog posts from a person with one "Mission".

If you cannot understand this, then I believe the problem lies not with me.

Donn

P.S. perhaps out of consideration for others, you could keep it to a daily thread of yours with your interviews and blog posts. And then you could reply to your thread over and over to your hearts content.

*sigh*

there's a HUGE difference between reposting blog posts from another site here regularly and never posting a new thread again. one could post only occasional reposts of the blog. for another, one could post threads related to ebook readers that weren't blog posts but were actual news reports, questions, opinions and attempts to communicate with one's fellow readers respectfully, with as a person who shares the interests of the community.
