NEW Sony Reader Software 3.0.01.10191
This utility installs eBook Library software version 3.0.01, and provides the following benefits:

*Adds support for the Microsoft® Windows® 7 operating system
Note: If eBook Library software version 3.0 has been installed on a computer using Windows 7 operating system, it is necessary to uninstall version 3.0 using Windows Control Panel, and then to install version 3.0.01. The eBook Store Library content and account settings are not removed by uninstalling the software.

*Resolves an issue where transferring content to the Reader using eBook
Library version 3.0 may cause the Reader to stop responding

*Resolves an issue where transferring content to the Reader may cause a device detection error

Found @ sony e-support site select your version 300/505/600/700 (might be different, probably not but just in case)

Great information thanks. I moved this to the front page. Apparently there is no fix/update for the Mac version for Snow Leopard or to deal with some of the other bugs people have been running into.

anybody else here having issues with this version of the ebook library under Windows 7 64bit? it just wouldnt open up even with the compatibility mode.

Did you have version 3.0 installed? Did you uninstall it first?

I'm not having any problems. I uninstalled the previous version and then installed this one. Everything working fine in the compatibility mode.

It's easier to just go to the Sony's eBook store: http://ebookstore.sony.com/download/

You've uninstalled previous version before installing this one, right?

Except that you can't buy ebooks from the web site. You must use the software.

I think the OP just meant it was easier to go directly to that link for the new software, than to go to Sony's support pages and filter down through the various choices.
