Welcome the nook to our forums!
Everyone please welcome our latest addition to the forums... the Barnes & Noble nook - also dubbed "the world's most advanced eBook reader" (big words, I know, which makes the anticipation that much sharper).

So let's start "nooking" in our new forum and discuss every possible detail even before the first lucky individuals will start receiving their nook in the mail (rumored to be as early as this week).

A few weeks ago $259 sounded cheap. But with the jetBook Lite now lowering the bar to $149, $259 sounds like real money.

How come the Nook gets a forum but the COOL-ER that's been out and shipping for a while still doesn't have one?

Can't decide between the IRex Digital Reader, or Sony PRS600. That Plastic Logic device looks good too and the Hanvon WISEreader N518 as well. And don't forget about the Txtr reader! I could also wait for the BeBook2?

The Cooler is a Netronix clone ( http://www.netronixinc.com/product_e-book.htm ) with the Cybook Gen3, the pocketbook 301, the eread starbook, and lots of others having the same hardware. The major difference there is the software. While Cybook and pocketbook do produce a distictly different software (drmed mobi support - cybook / very stable and userfriendly - pocketbook), most clones use the standard software...

But then the Astak devices should be lumped into the Hanlin forum. The Cool-er does deserve it's own forum. Astak is the same hardware as the Hanlin and the software is as well. Why have rules for how a device gets it's own forum and then not follow them?

Jon, we judge by demand. If there is sufficient demand (i.e. postings) to warrant a dedicated section, then we will add that section.

One and a half years to get a Jetbook forum, one day to get a Nook forum. It does seem a little arbitrary and biased.
