Hmmm. A 9-inch ebook reader. I wonder what exactly in-cell touch functions and embedded Single Chip Solution means.

Actually, I think "in cell" means that the touch functionality is built right into the display rather than being a separate layer under or over the epaper itself. BOb

They said it was 9:1 contrast ratio...I guess it's a step up from Vizplex. Can't wait until we can double or triple that at least...

just yesterday I read that some company plans on producing processor versions just for eBook readers combining ARM-based CPU and controller for the eInk screen in one chip. I guess that is what they are referring to. Cheers, Klaus |

I always see these electronic paper devices in sci-fi movies and they look so damn cool.
In this case it can be bent, but ships in a bulky solid frame so it's not bendy? The bendiness may be a little marketing ploy given that the final product isn't made to be so flexible?

Most people don't need to bend what they're reading. Flexibility just makes it more durable, more resistant to drops and jostling around in a backpack or briefcase etc. I'm more interested to see what it does for stylus writing/touch screen functions in regard to accuracy, lag (on e-ink like the iRex) etc. |

The step up is in the new iRex; 12:1. I will not buy a new reader as long as I do not see a big step up. In too many conditions, the screen of my reader is too dark, whereas a paper book is perfectly readable. |
